I think this trend is so cute! I also realize that it is a trend, so the likelihood of it sticking around for a while is slim to none, therefore I am not spending a bunch of money on it. The cropped vest sits at a perfect hip length, so it doesn't leave the outfit looking bulky, or sloppy. My vest is in a size Medium- leaving a little extra room for a sweater or any layering.
